Episode 43 - Surf, Skate, & Punk Rock Hero with Rick DeVoe

I'm excited to share my conversation with Rick DeVoe. Rick is a fixture in the Southern California punk rock and action sports communities, managing bands like Blink 182, Unwritten Law, New Found Glory, Pennywise, and more.

His collaboration w/ the legendary surf filmmaker Taylor Steele in the 90s broke new ground in mainstream culture, merging action sports with punk rock music- and this work inspired Kevin Lyman to create The Warped Tour.

It’s an honor to have him on the show because of all he’s achieved; plus, we recap a funny personal story of how Rick inadvertently changed my life when we met in 2001. Most importantly, this episode explores the magic of following our passions, being disciplined in the pursuit, and trusting the process.

Rick has fantastic stories, incredible energy, and insights. And I loved hearing how he’s passing the torch of his craft to his daughter Jaysea.
